Activities for a high-energy dog
Summer is a wonderful time for both people and dogs – long, warm evenings and plenty of opportunity to enjoy outdoor activities together. Perhaps you are in the middle of your holidays and starting to run out of ideas. If you also have a high-energy dog, finding new ways to keep it occupied can be an even greater challenge. Here are a few tips on activities you can enjoy together this summer:
1. Go on long walks or runs
One of the best ways to burn off energy is without doubt a long, enjoyable walk – good for both dogs and people alike. A retractable lead is well worth using, as it gives your dog the chance to really stretch its legs and explore its surroundings.
2. Play in the water
Many dogs love swimming and letting off steam in the water. Take your dog to a dog-friendly beach or bathing spot and splash around together. A garden sprinkler also works brilliantly – perfect for both children and dogs to run around in.
3. Try agility or frisbee
Both are great fun and physically challenging activities that exercise both body and mind. If there is no agility course nearby, you can build one in your garden with a little imagination and creativity. Or why not use logs and stones out in the forest?
4. Teach your dog a new trick
There are plenty of dog tricks beyond the usual sit, down, and stay. You could teach your dog to roll over, for example, or to balance a treat on its nose.

The right conditions for recovery
With lots of exercise and activity, time for recovery becomes especially important – which is why we recommend the supplement Collagen Hydrolysate. This supplement helps the body to rebuild cartilage, making it ideal for active dogs or for recovery after injury.
It is also well suited to our older companions, as the elasticity of the body’s tendons is influenced in part by the number of collagen fibres present. The product works particularly well in combination with Rosehip Powder, as the vitamin C helps the body to absorb the supplement.
