Dog Health in Focus for Alexandra

Alexandra has always had a passion for dogs. Growing up in the countryside surrounded by dogs, cats and chickens, animals have always been a natural part of her life. But it wasn’t until 2014, when she got her first dog of her own, that her interest truly took off. She was offered the opportunity to take over the dog swimming centre she had attended with her dog, and after a bit of encouragement from her partner, she said yes. Today, she no longer runs the swimming centre, but dogs remain a central part of her everyday life. She is a dedicated dog owner with a particular interest in canine anatomy and physiotherapy, constantly striving to give her four-legged friends the very best.

“I got into canine physiotherapy after my first dog was injured. I wanted to help her live as long and pain-free a life as possible. It has truly shaped my interest in dog health.”

Today, Alexandra shares her life with her two American Staffordshire Terriers, Ipa and Lyx. She got Ipa just two months after having her first child. Despite a hectic period, it worked out wonderfully. Lyx comes from a litter where Ipa is the mother. After studying the puppies’ anatomical development, Lyx became the obvious choice, as she was the most appealing puppy to Alexandra.

Ipa has competed successfully in rally obedience and has earned several titles. She is also certified in nosework. Future plans include more competitions and the goal of completing the highest rally obedience class. Ipa has also achieved success in the show ring, including winning Best in Show at a Swedish Kennel Club National Show in 2022. It was the first time a Swedish-bred female Amstaff received this award, making it a historic achievement for the breed in Sweden. Alexandra also plans to take both dogs to the World Dog Show in Helsinki this summer.

As an ambassador for Raw for Paw, Alexandra combines her passion for dogs with a commitment to giving them the very best. She has used the brand’s products since their launch and even sold them while running the dog swimming centre. She is particularly fond of the natural dog treats.

“I always carry a handful of treats when we go out. They are perfect for rewarding, especially during unwanted dog encounters. They are the perfect size and don’t crumble in your pocket.”

She gives supplements based on need, which tends to increase during the winter months. MSM, Green-lipped mussel and Spirulina are three supplements used at home to support the body and help prevent issues. For Alexandra, choosing products is about focusing on her dogs’ natural needs.

“Raw for Paw avoids unnecessary synthetic additives and considers the dog’s overall health, both inside and out. That’s exactly what I want for my dogs. The short time we have with them should be the best possible. They can’t choose, so it’s our responsibility to make conscious choices on their behalf.”
