Yet another new favourite flavour for your dog – wild duck!
We are so proud to have finally launched our newest star here at Raw for Paw – wild duck! Wild duck is a collective term for several different species of duck; the one we use is mallard. Mallard meat is quite dark and fine-grained, and what sets wild duck apart from other game birds is that it contains less fat.
Thanks to our lengthy freeze-drying process, we retain the flavour whilst keeping the aroma very mild – making these treats perfect to carry in your pocket as an everyday reward for your dog!
- The treats are dry and do not crumble
- 100% game meat
- Extremely flavoursome
- Contains all the natural nutrients found in the meat

So, what makes freeze-drying unique?
You might be wondering – why should I buy freeze-dried treats for my dog? Great question! Unlike traditional dog treat manufacturing, freeze-drying uses no heat. This means all the natural nutrients in the treats are retained without any degradation, so there is no need to add anything afterwards. All the moisture passes directly from solid to gas form, without any boiling taking place.
We freeze-dry our treats for approximately 24 to 36 hours, depending on the quantity being dried at any one time. The treats are dried at our factory in Nässjö, Småland, and all ingredients come from Nordic sources.
Our freeze-dried pieces are approximately 10 mm in diameter, making them among the smallest on the market and therefore perfect to use as enrichment treats for your dog – or why not your cat?
Raw for Paw’s treats have a soft texture, making them particularly appreciated by older dogs or those with dental issues. The wild duck is slightly crispier on the outside, but still very easy to chew.
What is the difference between the tubes and the bags?
The tubes – the cylindrical packaging – are our game range. They contain 100% meat from free-roaming wild animals in the Nordic region.
Our bags contain 97% meat from livestock and 3% lingonberries and nettles. These include cuts such as tripe, liver, lung, and cartilage – parts of the animal that could be sold for human consumption but for commercial reasons are not, which means we can make use of them instead of them going to waste. Good, isn’t it?
We have also added lingonberries and nettles to this range. These are Nordic ingredients rich in antioxidants and a great source of vitamin C, iron, folic acid, and calcium.
