Supplements, kosttillskott.

Örjan’s health struggles sparked Elin’s greatest passion!

Elin got her first dog when she was 16 years old – Örjan, a six-year-old Golden Retriever who opened her eyes to her great love of dogs.

Örjan has had a number of health issues over the years, which led Elin to immerse herself deeply in canine health, rehabilitation, and nutrition – topics that have become her greatest interests and are now the basis of her work.

Elin runs her own pet shop alongside working as a Canine Therapist, carrying out rehabilitation and health treatments for dogs.

In her spare time, Elin loves dog training. She actively trains in agility, rally obedience, nosework, and showing. Today Elin also has two Staffordshire Bull Terriers – Helge, who is just over 1.5 years old, and Tage, who is 5 months old, and it is primarily Tage and Helge that she trains and competes with.

Sometimes her mum’s French Bulldog also stays with Elin, so there is certainly no shortage of dogs, she says with a twinkle in her eye!

When Elin and her gang are not training, they do activities the dogs enjoy. They spend a lot of time in the forest where they can roam freely. The dogs also love lounging on the sofa together. Elin considers it a wonderful quality in her dogs that they genuinely love to work and be active, yet are equally content to stretch out on the sofa and relax.

“My favourite thing to do with the dogs is still, above all, simply being out in nature and enjoying it together with them.” – Elin

As mentioned, Örjan has had a number of physical issues, including back and hip pain during certain periods. Elin treats these but also gives him supplements as a preventative measure. When one of her dogs developed hives a while ago, he was given supplements to give his body the support it needed.

What supplements do you give your dogs?

I give my dogs different supplements at different times. At the moment, all of them except the puppy are getting Rosehip and Digestive Guard. During periods when my dogs need it, they also get Brewer’s Yeast, Humin-Pet, and Greenies. I give supplements according to what they need during that particular period.

Elin shares her most recent supplement experience:

As well as his hip and back pain, Örjan also has issues with his digestive tract. He has had these since a young age and, in consultation with the vet, we have settled on a diet that works for him. But sometimes he has trouble with his ears – quite a lot of itching, and his ears become red and gunky. Two weeks of Humin-Pet and all the itching and gunkiness had completely cleared up!

“It was completely gone – I am so impressed by how well it works!” – Elin

Why do you give your dogs supplements?

I give my dogs supplements because I can genuinely see a difference in their bodies. But I also want to give them the best possible conditions so that their bodies get the support they need. For example, when the hives appeared I gave Humin-Pet and they cleared up pretty quickly in the days that followed. During shedding I give Brewer’s Yeast. I give Digestive Guard because my dogs sometimes have bad breath, and within days the problem disappears!

I think it is important to know what you are giving and to have a clear reason why your dog needs a particular supplement. That is why I do not give supplements all year round, but only during the periods when they are needed.

If you know what your dog’s supplemental needs are, I think supplements are wonderful – they can truly work miracles for the body. I believe many dogs do not get everything they need, and dogs that receive the right supplements can experience a real difference in the quality of their physical condition and overall health.

If you could choose just one supplement, which would it be and why?

Without hesitation I would choose Humin-Pet. I think it is fantastic for skin reactions and rashes. I have also seen it work wonders on other dogs’ yeasty paws. I feel it really does the job, and it is ideal because you do not have to give it all the time – you can use it in targeted courses when the dog genuinely needs it.
