Antioxidants – superheroes that protect

We offer two product ranges of dog treats. We have the tubes containing 100% freeze-dried Nordic game meat, and then we have the bags with freeze-dried pieces made from 97% meat from Nordic farms along with 3% lingonberries and nettle. We freeze-dry these tasty treats ourselves at our factory in Småland, and as with all of our products, we focus on the quality of the ingredients and value honest products we can be proud of.

We chose lingonberries and nettle because they contribute great flavour and because they are rich in antioxidants. They are a good source of vitamin C, iron, folic acid, and calcium. For us, it is important to have a natural source of vitamins and minerals – no synthetic additives, unlike many pet foods on the market today.

What are antioxidants and why are they beneficial?

Antioxidants are substances found naturally in certain foods and have the ability to protect both us and our animals from damage caused by what are known as free radicals. Think of antioxidants as superheroes fighting off these harmful free radicals.

Free radicals form in our bodies as part of natural processes, but they can also be produced through exposure to harmful substances such as pollution and cigarette smoke. When these free radicals accumulate in the body, they can damage our cells and are thought to be a contributing factor to several serious diseases. This is why we have chosen to draw on two ingredients from Nordic nature that are packed with antioxidants: lingonberries and nettle.

Lingonberries have been part of Nordic folk medicine for centuries and are considered to be highly nutritious with many health benefits. They contain several vitamins and minerals including potassium, calcium, magnesium, and phosphorus. Many dogs enjoy eating lingonberries just as they are, but above all they are highly nutritious and rich in antioxidants.

Nettles are a true superfood. They are highly nutritious and contain large amounts of a wide range of important vitamins, minerals, and amino acids. They are particularly rich in vitamin C, iron, folic acid, and calcium, making them an excellent source for boosting the nutritional density of the treats. By including nettles in your dog’s diet, you can improve their nutritional intake whilst also giving them more energy and stamina.

Treats that taste good and do good

Here they are – soft and flavoursome dog treats rich in antioxidants to support your dog’s health and provide the best possible conditions. And even though they are treats, you needn’t feel guilty if you happen to give a few too many. The advantage of freeze-drying is that it results in low density, meaning you can give plenty of them, frequently, without your dog taking in too many calories.
