Raw for Paws ambassadör Nikolina med sina boxrar Leia och Doris.

Nikolina’s Active Life with Boxers Leia and Doris

Dogs are a great passion for our ambassador Nikolina. Both her free time and her job revolve around dogs, as she works as a sales representative for a company that sells raw food. She grew up with dogs in the family and is now the owner of two lovely Boxers: Leia, who is 11 years old, and Doris, who is 2.5 years old.

Leia was her first dog of her own. She chose the Boxer breed because she wanted a dog with plenty of drive that she could train with. She had already developed an eye for Boxers through her previous job at a doggy day care, and after doing more research, it felt like an obvious choice. So it wasn’t just one Boxer, but later another one as well.

Leia and Doris may be the same breed, but they are very different individuals. Leia is calm and more of an “old soul,” whilst Doris is a real bundle of energy. But both are lively, happy and kind, and are always keen to join in on all sorts of activities. What Nikolina appreciates most about the Boxer is that it’s an all-round dog she can both train with and take along when she travels for work.

A Leisure Time Filled with Training

Nikolina leads an active life, and in her free time she loves training with her dogs. The plan when she got Leia was to do obedience and working dog training together. But when Leia was just 1 year old, it was discovered that she had hip dysplasia and arthritis. This means she can’t keep up such a high pace and only joins in on what she feels like and can manage. Woodland walks are her favourite.

Instead, it’s Doris who gets to take part in training. She does both obedience and canicross running, but what has really become her thing is Muddy Paws. It’s a triathlon with obstacles, water and mud where dog and owner work together to get through the course. In many other situations, Doris can get overexcited, but on the competition course she’s fully focused whilst getting an outlet for her energy.

“It really strengthens the bond to do something together, and it builds Doris’s confidence by letting her be who she is.”

Natural Nutrition That Supports the Dogs’ Health

Since Nikolina works for a raw food company, she advocates for dogs’ diets to be as natural as possible. She follows the same approach when choosing treats and supplements. That’s why Raw for Paw has become an obvious choice.

The dogs eat different supplements based on their individual needs. Leia takes Green-lipped Mussel, Collagen Hydrolysate and Rosehip Powder , all of which are good for her joints. Doris, who is active, gets Mobility Guard as a preventative measure to avoid injuries. She also gets Digestive Guard when needed, as she can get a stress-related upset stomach when they’re travelling. Something they both get during shedding season is Brewer’s Yeast.

“Even though I have short-haired dogs, they shed a lot, and I think Brewer’s Yeast has worked brilliantly.”

Through her ambassadorship, Nikolina wants to share her experiences of having a dog with health issues and show how the right supplements can make a difference. She hopes to pass this on to others in the same situation so that their dogs can feel better too. She happily recommends Raw for Paw’s products to others, both because she’s seen that they really do make a difference and because she feels it’s a brand she can stand behind.

“It should be honest, and Raw for Paw is honest in my world.”
